The Police Commissioner has revealed that more details regarding the investigation into the Land Transport Authority audit report which involved illegal mini bus operation will be released in the next few days.

A number of Land Transport Authority officials have been taken in for questioning by police in relation to alleged illegal mini bus operations in the country.

When contacted this morning Commodore Esala Teleni said its too early to be commenting on the investigations, however more information will be released soon.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Transport said all they can confirm is that they were briefed on Monday regarding the investigations into the audit report at LTA which involved illegal mini bus operations.

The Ministry said a number of suspects were identified and taken for questioning.

Late last month, LTA CEO Etuate Koroi was sent on leave pending investigations by the Transport Minister into an internal audit report on the operations and revenue measures of the LTA.

The Major Crimes Unit from the CID Headquarters is investigating the matter.
