Fiji can expect more frequent and stronger cyclones in the coming years.
University Professor and leading consultant for the UN on Climate Change, Doctor Toney Wier who was one of the Panel speakers on Day 3 of the Pacific Youth Festival and informed delegates that the sudden change in climate conditions around the Pacific puts many, especially Fiji see more frequent cyclones.
Doctor Weir said if nothing is done to address the issue quickly, Fiji will go through the same thing that the Carribeans and Australia are currently experiencing.
Today, delegates will be addressed by East Timor President and Noble Prize winner, Ramos Jose Horta who will be part of a panel discussion on Good Governance.
