Police will continue to raid marijuana farms in the first quarter of the year as they want to cut off the source of marijuana supply in the country.

Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu said while the focus is on the Northern Division and Kadavu at the moment, they continue to receive more information on other areas.

ACP Tudravu said they have taken this stand as they want to eradicate the problem.

Seven people who are in custody at the Nabua Police Station will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today for their alleged involvement in the cultivation of marijuana.

Four people who are in custody at the Vunisea Police Station in Kadavu will be escorted to Suva today and will appear in court later this week.

1,300 plants believed to marijuana were uprooted in Kadavu up to last Friday.

Another raid was conducted in Rakiraki village, Kadavu yesterday where 220 plants were uprooted.
