Cancer does not rule out anyone.
Fiji Cancer Society President Nirmala Nambiar said more awareness needs to be raised on breast cancers and a proactive approach needs to be taken for early detection and prevention.
Nambiar said there are 60 to 90 cases of breast cancer diagnosed each year in Fiji and they are now networking with other Non Government organisations to reach out to the rural communities as well.
Meanwhile statistics provided by the Ministry of Health showed there were 64 cases of breast cancer recorded last year with 18 of them between the ages of 40 to 44 years.
