With school to start on Monday assistance from the general public has been pouring in to help children get back to school.
The Flood Appeal to Get the Children Back to School has collected more than $70,000 so far.
Organised by Communications Fiji Limited's radio stations, Fijivillage, its sister stations and our website fijivillage.com, the flood appeal will continue till tomorrow 6pm and organisers are predicting a larger amount to be collected tomorrow.
Appeal Coordinator and Navtarang Programmes Director Satya Nand said this has only been achieved through people's generous support adding that our teams will be present at various locations tomorrow for you to give what you can.
The money raised will be given to Save The Children Fiji to help children get back to school when the new school year starts next week. The money will be used to provide bus fares, lunches as well as other school items.
