The Save the Children Fiji yesterday provided assistance to more than 500 students in Ba and more students will be given the stationery packs today.
Chief Executive, Chandra Shekhar has confirmed that they visited 21 schools in Ba yesterday and met with school heads to provide assistance to the needy children.
Shekhar said some schools have come up with names of more students and the initial figure of 2700 is expected to double.
Meanwhile, students of Khalsa College Ba were happy after receiving the assistance.
Assistant Principal, Elas Pickering thanked Save the Children Fiji for the assistance. She said names of some other students have been submitted to officials who need bus fare and school fees.
