The Poor Relief Society has provided more than $10,000 to students in Fiji between March last year till April this year.
President, Sabita Gandhi said their representatives visited some schools in the Central, Eastern and Northern to collate information on how many students are in need of assistance.
Gandhi said they receive requests from Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institute students and certain criteria are followed before assistance are given out.
She adds that they are focusing on those students sitting for examinations and they have provided assistance to nearly 133 students in this month.
