More Questioned On Drug Haul
Divisional Crime Officer ASP Luke Rawalai said the $100,000 worth of dried leaves believed to be marijuana has been sent to Koronivia Research Station and they are waiting for the reports.
ASP Rawalai added that police investigation are underway and they have extended their investigations to Viti Levu to hunt for those people allegedly involved in the drug peddling network.
He had earlier said that investigations so far reveal that a network of people are operating both in Vanu Levu and in Viti Levu to transport the drugs to and from different locations around Fiji.
Police have also managed to establish that network of drug peddlers have been in operation without detection for a number of years.
Meanwhile, the truck driver was questioned and released. The alleged network of drug peddlers was uncovered after Police in Seaqaqa found dried leaves believed to be marijuana hidden in secret compartments in a ten wheeler truck after stripping it down yesterday.
