The Interim Minister for Public Enterprises has reiterated government's commitment to addressing areas that have enormous potential but have been economically deprived.

Aiyaz Sayed-Kaiyum made the comments while opening the new $5 million Savusavu Airport on Saturday.

He said government is very keen to engage with the private sector, in the infrastructure development to ensure many of those developments that should have been done decades ago are done.

Sayed-Kaiyum said they also have some other projects for Savusavu that will commence in the first quarter of next year which will bring tourist dollars.

Airports Fiji Limited had spent $5 million for the realignment of the runway and the drainage systems that have been improved.
