More Heavy Rain Expected
Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad said continuous heavy rain is expected in the Western, Eastern and Northern parts of the country tonight.
Prasad added prospects of flooding over night are high.
Meanwhile, the Kings Highway at Nayavu remains closed to all traffic due to heavy flooding and Sub Beam transport confirms that bus services along this route has been suspended until further notice.
Nausori police confirm the Nayavu bridge along the Kings Highway is closed as the bridge is under 1.5 meters of water.
The Nabuna bridge in Dawasamu is under 4 feet of water while the Waivula flats is also under 4 feet of water and all roads in the area are now closed to traffic. Police confirm that no homes are affected by the flooding as yet and police teams are out monitoring the situation.
In Rakiraki, Police confirm that all flood waters have receded in the last hour and they are also keeping an eye on the weather condition.
