The Ministry of Public Works has today confirmed that the maintenance of roads around the country will take more time as the contractor assigned to supply tar seal material to patch bad roads failed in its duties.
Principle Information Officer, Sainiana Waqainabete said they now have to look for a new company which can supply them bitumen which is used to tarseal roads.
Waqainabete also confirmed that the interim government is now trying to purchase 15 new graders which will be used to upgrade roads in rural areas.
She added that private contractors, who were given the job to upgrade roads, were using old machines which were delaying work.
