Inspirational Nadroga captain Tiko Matawalu said they have successfully achieved what they have planned for this year, and that is to take the Digicel and Colonial Farebrother Trophies to Sigatoka.

Matawalu said this after they defeated Colonial Farebrother Cup holder's Naitasiri 31-6 at the jampacked Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.

Matawalu said they had prepared well for the last two weeks, knowing that they can beat Naitasiri.

Nadroga coach Esala Nauga said one of the advantages that his boys had was their upper body strength, which could be seen at the game yesterday, with the likes of halfback Emosi Vucago and Jiuta Lutumailagi running through the heavy Naitasiri forwards.

Nauga said Nadroga players have the advantage that they used the facilities well, which is needed in modern day rugby.

Meanwhile, Naitasiri coach Reverend Joji Rinakama said they were lucky to defend the cup twice and reminded the players to keep fit.
