Police investigators have been directed to speed up investigations into the alleged plot to assassinate Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama, two Interim Ministers and two senior military officers.
Speaking to Village news this afternoon, Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni said misleading reports by some media outlets on the investigations into the alleged assassination plot are of serious concern as it can hinder their investigations.
However, Commodore Teleni said this has given his team additional ammo to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
Meanwhile, Teleni also confirms that so far in their search, no arms have been found by investigators as claimed earlier by some media outlets.
Assistant Police Commissioner Crime, Nazir Ali did confirm earlier that they only recovered some ammunition from one of the men's home who is already charged. Police have not revealed the type of ammunition found and are also tightlipped on how many rounds of ammo have been recovered. 11 men, charged in relation to the alleged assassination plot were denied bail yesterday and have been remanded in custody till November 22nd.
