The Health Ministry is working with the Fiji Military Force in cleaning up areas and providing health services to the neediest people who have been affected by the recent floods.
Newly appointed Interim Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma said there are possibilities of an outbreak of diseases and for this they need to clean up the environment.
In a press conference this morning, Dr Sharma also confirmed that they have received some reported cases of dengue fever, diarrhea and leptospirosis after the recent floods.
Meanwhile, officials from the World Health Organization in Suva today confirmed that they will be providing $100,000 worth of equipment to the Ministry of Health in trying to prevent the outbreak of diseases.
The equipment mostly includes vector control materials.
