With around 800 teachers expected to retire by the end of this month, the Education Ministry is putting in place strategies to ensure that the quality of education offered in schools is not compromised.

The Ministry is putting out an "Expression of Interest" for teacher graduates to apply as the numbers of teachers that will be affected by the new retirement policy includes, those at primary, secondary, special education and the teacher training institutions.

The Ministry said they are aware that a large number of Fiji College of Advanced Education, Fulton and USP graduates are still looking for teaching opportunities.

A large number of people have already applied for teaching positions with the Ministry.
