The Ministry of Education will now monitor the effectiveness of all schools and particularly the school heads.

Education Minister Filipe Bole said if they do not perform to the expected level, there are systems in place to deal with such schools.

According to Bole, such systems include counseling, further training and even disciplinary measures if they do not respond positively.

The Ministry added it is important that school managements realize they have an important role in managing and setting up their school visions and their expected standards of leadership.

Meanwhile, the Ministry is also calling on school managements to be more understanding in complying with the new retirement age policy.

The Ministry added that new heads coming in could be more effective if given the support and opportunity by the school management.
