Families requesting help in rice planting and planting coconut will be receiving assistance from the Primary Industries Ministry.
However, the Director for Land and Water Resource Management Division, Lakshman Mudliar said that the first phase would be to improve the drainage and develop the land.
The Ministry will be improving drainage systems in Vaturova, Saqani, Korolau, Navatu, Wailevu, Cakaudrove, Savusavu and Tunuloa including other areas in the northern division this year.
