The Ministry of Provincial Development is now trying to complete major projects in the rural areas which have been neglected for the past couple of years.
Permanent Secretary, Manasa Vaniqi said a team from his Ministry is touring the rural areas with Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and it has been established that some of the promises made by the previous governments have still not been fulfilled.
According to Vaniqi, people in the rural areas were promised better roads, water and electricity supply and farming assistance.
He said the Ministry's priority now is to see that people living in the rural and outer islands have access to services which are enjoyed by people in the urban areas.
