Officials from the Primary Industry Ministry are studying a draft strategy which will be used to address the issue surrounding the compensation of dairy farms affected by Brucellosis.
Primary Industry Media Liaison Officer Jo Uluilakeba said the draft strategy was put forward by the technical committee which was formed to look into the issue of compensation, with help from the Secretariat of the Pacific Community.
The rehabilitation programme of the affected farms will also be considered during the emergency response programme taking into account the urgent need for these infected farms to return to full production.
Meanwhile eight farms have been found with cattle infected with Brucellosis, with all located in the Tailevu North and South areas.
