After receiving a number of complaints, the Ministry of Finance is now monitoring the sale of goods and services to determine if the duty reductions and concessions granted by the Interim government is being passed onto the consumers.

As price of food and other items continue to increase, Interim Minister Mahendra Chaudhry confirms that the ministry has recently recieved information that some traders are making double profits from the duty reduction and concessions due to which customers end up paying more than what they should be for products.

The Interim Finance Minister also revealed that earlier this week the Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs Department has also found some cases of false and misleading representation by traders and will be taking legal action against them.

Chaudhry said through the monitoring exercise, the interim government will ensure that customers are not mis-lead and get goods worth their money.
