The Ministry of Education has received a final report on the scaling of marks which has different views presented by the review team from the University of the South Pacific.
One of the team members, Professor of Economics and Head of Economics School at USP Satya Paul said based on their analysis they have made some recommendations to the Ministry of Education.
Paul said one of their main recommendations is to remove the scaling of external examination marks from year 12 and 13.
However his colleague, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Director of Research at USP Dr Jito Vanualailai said it is still important to scale marks as scaling recognizes the difficulty of subjects and does not discriminate those who attempt these subjects.
Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy said the final report will be submitted to cabinet.
