The Health Ministry is still looking at some suspected cases of H1N1 before they release any more details on the spread of the virus in the country.

Ministry Spokesperson Illiesa Tora said that by this afternoon they will have more detail but adds that the only way the public can keep up-to-date on the virus is by listening to the media.

This is after revelations that the number of people affected has now reached 10 with three new cases being children under 8, all from Nadi with all having recent travel history.

He said public health teams in the areas from which the patients are from, have been constantly checking to see if there are any other people who may be sick after close contact with the confirmed cases.

Reiterating precautionary measures for people to take: These are always wash your hands frequently with water and soap, avoid touching your face, don't shake hands and avoid kissing or hugging sick people.  When you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with tissue or your hand and wash your hands afterwards, and if you have the cough or runny nose don't go to work and don't send your kids to school if they are ill, and also see a doctor if you think you might have H1N1.
