The Environment Ministry is still investigating the matter where they raided three pawn shops in Suva with help of police and confiscated over 840 whales tooth or Tabua last month.

Ministry officials are trying to gather more information before steps are taken to prosecute the owners of the pawn shops.

Ministry alleges the three pawn shops had breached the Endangered and Protected species Act as they didn’t have license to sell the Tabua.

Tabua is still in the custody of the Environment Ministry.
