The Health Ministry is looking at ways to combat doctor shortage in the country.
Health Spokesperson Iliesa Tora said that doctor shortage has been a problem from the past 20 years and the Ministry is doing everything to see that the problem is dealt with.
He said the Ministry has told the Fiji School of Medicine to increase its intake by 20% this year and continue the process for the next three years and gradually increasing the number of intakes.
He said they are also increasing the bonding period.
