The Ministry of Education is looking at making education compulsory in Fiji.
Education Minister Filipe Bole said with the Free Bus Fare Scheme and free school fees in place, there should not be any excuse for parents not to send their children to school.
Bole said they need to consult with the public on this and other stakeholders before making education compulsory.

Bole added parents can be taken to task if they do not send their children to school when education is made compulsory.
