An initiative called the Blue ribbon campaign aimed at the protection of children from abuse and neglect was recently launched by Social Welfare Minister Dr Jiko Luveni.
Dr Luveni said that child care services is the core output of the department of the Social Welfare Ministry and for over 14 years since its establishment the department has provided services ensuring that children should be protected from risk of abuse, exploitation and extreme poverty.
Meanwhile a new website was also launched to provide the latest information from the Ministry which Dr Luveni said will be an ideal tool to disseminate timely and accurate information to all stakeholders.
The Blue Ribbon campaign will be celebrated from November 15th to November 19th this year.
