The Health Ministry is conducting an investigation into the expired food items which were distributed to flood victims by a New Zealand Organisation.

PRO Iliesa Tora said the investigation is been conducted by their Western Health Inspector which should be concluded by the end of the week.

He added the Ministry only got to know of the incident following the complaint lodged by the Consumer Council of Fiji as the distributions were not part of governments relief help.

The Consumer Council of Fiji last week received complaints from 60 households in Navakai Nadi about receiving expired food items from a New Zealand Organization had expired in 2001.
