The Ministry for Health said the country needs more health staff to adequately cater for the community.
This is according to the Assistant Minister of Health Veena Bhatnagar who says that the government has also acknowledged the need for more staff to cater for the current work load.
Bhatnagar said following their visitation to different health centers and hospitals in the past few weeks they have noticed that responding to patients and situational demand will depend on the availability of the resources.
Bhatnagar stresses that despite all the challenges the hospitals and health centres face the staff have been performing extremely well which includes the home visitation by zone nurses, giving special foot care services for people with diabetes and providing maternal child health.
She added that the Ministry is also looking into improving the accessibility to services and improve the attitude of staff when assisting with patients.
