The Women, Social Welfare and Poverty Alleviation Ministry is focused towards alleviating poverty and improving the assistance provided.
Dr Jiko Luveni said they will be focusing on those who are considered poor or are unemployed.
She also said that one of their plans is to encourage saving and will be working towards assisting those people under the assistance scheme to improve the poverty statistics.
The Ministry will also be providing e-banking services to its recipients under the family assistance program next year which will allow them to plan and budget the little amount provided to them, while at the same time encourage potential savings.
