The Education Ministry is trying to tie up all the loose ends to avoid any abuse of its Transport assistance scheme to the students starting from Monday.

Minister Filipe Bole said that now the coupons will only be received from 6am to 9am and after 2.30pm daily by Student Transport Providers.

The Ministry has advised all the Student Transport Providers to follow the instructions given by the Ministry so that all students remain in class and do not go for free rides at any time and abuse the assistance.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has assessed a substantial number of applications for Transport Assistance from all 9 Education Districts.

Bole said schools will soon be issued with coupons in time for the scheduled date of February 15th for this assistance to begin.

He said late applications will be delayed and he is urging parents and students not to panic.
