The Ministry of Works is now embarking on widening the road from Makoi to the Nausori Bridge.
As the widening of the Nokonoko Road and Bridge comes to an end, the Ministry will now focus on widening the roads where motorists are mostly caught up in traffic.
Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete confirmed the design work on the four lane road is underway.
Meanwhile, motorists are advised Nokonoko Road will be closed from 6pm tomorrow till Friday 10am during which the PWD workers will be finishing the works on the four lane road.
The new Nokonoko Road will be officially opened on Friday.
