Ministry asked to look into complaints
Big potholes can be seen on the roads at the Wailada Sudivision which is now becoming a hazard for many vehicles.
A container belonging to M.Y Transport Limited carrying wheat fell off the truck along with its tray after jumping off a pothole.
The Manager Customer Relations Arvind Segran said that they were very fortunate that nobody was hurt in the accident.
Meanwhile, another well known businessman who wishes to remain anonymous said that a lot of their vehicles have been sustaining damages lately due to the pathetic road conditions and their maintenance cost has doubled over the past 12 months.
He said that some of the potholes are the size of small cars and a band-aid solution will not work for an industrial area like that.
He is calling on the Transport Minister to investigate the complaints and get the roads fixed which is affecting business.
A senior worker at an established company said that the roads should be fixed quickly, as the current condition is like an accident waiting to happen.
Another worker who is working in Wailada for the past 20 years said that the condition of the roads there is deteriorating without any work done on it.
