The Ministry of Health is planning to trial a new service program for two health centres along the Suva to Nausori corridor in a bid to help improve health service deliveries.
Health PRO Iliesa Tora revealed that the new work programs will involve the implementation of two work shifts at the Valelevu and Makoi Health Centres and will start on March 2nd.
Tora said if the trial proves to be a success, then similar moves will be implemented at the Lami and Raiwaqa health centres which in turn will help reduce the load at the CWM Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry received $US341,400 from the UNFPA to help in the implementation of the Ministry's Reproductive Health Pragramme from the next 12 months.
Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma said the funding will go a long way towards strengthening health systems in improving the sexual and reproductive health of all young people.
