Works Ministry officials are expected to confirm later this morning on whether the Queens and Kings Highways are safe to travel.
Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said while the flood waters have receded along the highways there is still a lot of debris and they are also assessing whether there are any live broken power lines.
Most of the western division is also without water supply.
More than 6,000 people are still being accommodated at the evacuation centres around the country.
Senior DISMAC official Aisea Quminakelo said there are more than 100 evacuation centres and many areas are still affected by flood waters.
A total of 3281 people are now at evacuation centres in the Western Division.
DISMAC Western Command Centre confirms 50 evacuation centres are in operation with the highest number of evacuees reported in Nadi with 1491 people.
The Command Centre confirms that 1219 people are in evacuation centres in Sigatoka, 419 in Lautoka, 35 in Tavua, 87 in Ba and 30 in Rakiraki.
