In efforts to try and account for the thousands of Tabua in circulation, which is used in all traditional Fijian ceremonies here and abroad, the Ministry of Environment is implementing the new legislation to control the sale, trade, export and import of Tabua in Fiji.

Director Environment Epeli Nasome told Fijivillage news that under the Endangered Species Act, the Ministry with other relevant stakeholders is trying to put together data on the number of
tabua in circulation in Fiji and overseas.
