There are only 5 days left for Fiji to make a statement come the 29th of this month and many organizations are joining the Earth Hour initiative by the WWF.
The latest to pledge its support is the Ministry of Health, Women and Social Welfare.
Media officer Vasiti Ritova said the event is being taken seriously by the Ministry which intends to play its part during Earth Hour.
The city of Suva, along with Lautoka and Lami town will be switching off all unnecessary lights for an hour to mark Earth Hour, an event which started in Sydney last year.
The event which saw Sydney-siders and 21 000 businesses turn off their power last year.
