The Consumer Council of Fiji has called on Health and Education Ministries to enforce School Canteen Guidelines and form policies to ban the sale of unhealthy foods and drinks to children in schools.
Chief Executive Officer Premila Kumar said school canteens are contributing to poor health of students and to raise awareness on this a campaign has been organized by the council in conjunction with consumer organizations around the World to celebrate World Consumer Rights Day next week.
The theme for this year is Say No to Junk Food- Making Parents Responsible in Fiji.
