New mining company Westech has given the interim government an ultimatum to respond to their proposals or they will withdraw the deal to buy the Vatukoula Gold Mines.
Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirms government responded to their proposal on Monday stating that they want the mining plan, scheme and the financial background of the company before the end of this week.
Sayed-Khaiyum said they want to know whether the mine will be fully operational in a few years.
He added that Westech also wants more concessions which the government will consider.
Westech Director Brian Wesson is expected to comment later.
