The Fiji Employers Federation will be holding a meeting today where they will be discussing the issue of a standard minimum wage rate.

This was confirmed to Fijivillage by the Director for the Federation Ken Roberts who said that he is aware of the issue but will reserve his comments until after the meeting.

The Wages Council Manager for Policy Senivalati Koroduadua had earlier said that they will hold brief meetings with stakeholders as 70% of the workforce in the country are not represented by any union they will have proper consultations with employers before making any decision.

The meeting is being held this hour at the Federation Headquarters.
