It has been confirmed that the Pacific Mini Games scheduled for September is still on.

In a statement on ABC Pacific Beat, Cook Islands Pacific Mini Games Minister Wilkie Rasmussen confirmed that changes have taken place in the organizing committee, who have worked hard to get extra funding to continue building the facilities.

Rasmussen added that before the Cook Islands government had tight control of the finances, but now the organizing committee has immediate access to the necessary funds.

The Cook Islands government has committed over $13million to the staging of the Mini Games, much of this from the Chinese government.

Fiji will be taking part in 15 different sports.
