A 39 year old man is in critical condition at the Lautoka Hospital after sustaining serious injuries while working at the Vatukoula Gold Mines yesterday.
Assistant police spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said the man was repairing his equipment when one of his workmates allegedly switched on the power supply.
He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
Meanwhile, police are awaiting the post mortem report of the 23 year old electrician who was found dead inside the Vatuloula Gold Mines on Saturday afternoon.
He was spotted lying unconscious by some workmates at around 5pm and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police are expected to question the workmates of the deceased once they get the post mortem report.
