The Hurricanes win over the Blues last Friday may have come at a cost as their star wing Nehe Milner-Skudder dislocated his shoulder in the match.
Skudder injured his shoulder when Blues No 8 Akira Ioane landed on him in the second half of the match at Eden Park.
Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd said Milner‑Skudder's dislocated shoulder will be determined by further scans.
He said if Milner-Skudder needs a shoulder reconstruction then he is out for the season.
The Hurricanes face the Western Force at 6.35pm Friday while the Waratahs clash with the Highlanders at 8.40pm.
