As millions of youths worldwide converge in Sydney for the weeklong World Youth Day Celebrations led by World Catholic Church Head, the Holy Father Pope Benedict the 16th, the Fiji delegation of 596 youths will this weekend be hosted by the Fiji Catholic Community in Sydney or FCCS.

Community members in Sydney have confirmed the delegation will be accorded a welcome ceremony at Hunters Hill followed by a BBQ lunch tomorrow.

FCCS members say the 500 plus youths are this weekend billoted to stay with the Fiji families until Monday when they will then stay with the families chosen for them by the organisers of the Celebrations.

Some are currently staying with family members.

The Fiji Delegation was accompanied by the Vicar General Father Beni Kaloudau and Fiji Catholic Head, Archbishop Petero Mataca, whose travelling to Australia had raised concerns in local media as he is Co-Chair of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji and was supposedly on a travel ban.
