If the military were to participate in the People's Charter process, it will be able to discuss their role with regards to the coup culture in Fiji.
This is the view of the Citizens Constitutional Forum Executive Director, Rev Akuila Yabaki who adds that the training at the military camp held last week Thursday for about 100 participants, should be a reminder to the interim government that it would be very easy for the military to impose their views on the Charter.
Fiji Human Rights Commissioner and Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Co-coordinator, Shamima Ali has similar sentiments and had earlier said that the role of the military needs to be re-evaluated to remove the coup culture in Fiji, once they do return to camp after the March 2009 General Elections.
