The Military Council stresses that it will stand by the decisions and actions of the Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama in dealing with the tax evasion allegations against Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry.
Spokesperson Lt. Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho said the Military Council will not interfere in the matter.
Village news received confirmation that the Military Council met this morning and the allegations against Chaudhry was raised briefly for discussions.
However, Lt. Col. Qiliho said any deliberations and recommendations by the Military Council are not for public consumption.
