Interim Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Epeli Ganilau stresses that the Fiji Military Forces will continue to play a major role in ensuring law and order in the country is maintained.
After the RFMF was excluded from the National Security Council during the SDL party's reign in office, Ratu Epeli said he cannot understand why the RFMF was not included as it is vital that the Military and the Police lead the way in matters of national security.
The newly appointed Interim Minister for Defence also said he will ensure that the joint Police/ Military operations continue around the country.
Ratu Epeli expects a briefing on the current national security situation in the country later this week from senior Police and Military Officers.
