The military will appeal Justice Thomas Hickie's decision where he ordered the office of the Army Commander to pay over $65,000 for damages sustained by a Monasavu landowner Senitiki Naqa who was beaten by soldiers in August 2000.

Major Neumi Leweni has made it clear this afternoon that the military is already in the process of making the appeal.

He also stressed that the court has ordered that the $65,000 should be paid by the Office of the Commander, not personally by Commodore Bainimarama.

Meanwhile, Senitiki Naqa's lawyer Sevuloni Valenitabua said the RFMF has only two options after the ruling.
