The Fiji Military Forces has hit out at the assessment made by one of the architects of the 1997 constitution, Dr Brij Lal that the Interim Government has a lot of challenges ahead of it and the major one is to return the country to democracy and revive the economy.
Speaking to Village News, RFMF spokesperson Lt Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said people should understand that Dr Brij Lal is talking an academic point of view and does not understand the situation in the country since he no longer lives here.
While Dr Lal has raised the question on whether the military will respect the court's decision if it rules that the events of December 5th was a coup, Tikoitoga said that the case is before the courts and the army will not comment.
