The military has today raised concern over the statement made by the Fiji Womens Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali questioning President Ratu Josefa Iloilo's ability to make decisions and saying that he is tired and ready to retire.
Military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said the President makes his own decisions and Ali's comments are totally disrespectful.
However, Shamima Ali alleges that the President is being used to fulfill other people's agenda.
Ali said they have received reports that Ratu Josefa was not in a position to be making decisions he was said to be making and he should take on a more active and participatory role in what is happening in the country, instead of sending out messages with his signature for people like the Interim Attorney General to read out.
Meanwhile, the Tui Vuda's traditional spokesperson, Ratu Tevita Momoedonu said the people of Vuda believe that Ratu Josefa Iloilo is still capable and healthy to carry on occupying the high office.
