Veteran sevens specialist Tim Mikkelson will captain the All Blacks Sevens for the remaining eight tournaments of the World 7s Series.
Mikkelson replaces Scott Curry who suffered a season ending shoulder injury in the Dubai Sevens last month.
29-year-old Mikkelson says it’s an honour to be given the responsibility to lead the team for the rest of the World Series.
The All Blacks Sevens are currently seventh in the World Series.
The Wellington Sevens kicks off on the 30th of this month and the All Blacks Sevens will play Scotland, South Africa and Russia in pool play.
The All Blacks 7's team to play in the Wellington Sevens will be named on the 25th of this month.
